We have had a tremendous fall. Here is a summary of what's been going on these past few months:

• Created four student publications
  
• Hosted twenty-eight field trips here at the center
  
• Held three rounds of interviews resulting in at least twenty new tutors each round
  
• Offered seventeen different workshops
  
• Watched drop-in tutoring flourish with many students learning English as a second language
  
• Shared our talents with many SF schools (Galileo, Wallenberg, Thurgood Marshall High School, Roosevelt Middle School, Creative Arts Charter School, Ulloa, 21st Century Academy, Gateway High School)
  
• Helped numerous students complete their homework here at the center
  
• Collaborated with School of the Arts on the seniors’ college essays
  
• Invited a team of talented folks to join us on the board
  
• Worked with teachers to create ways to galvanize student interest in writing
  
• Created a tech team to assist with the on-going expansion of our computer lab
  
• Received fan notes and checks from all over the country
  
• Organized a team of writers to work on grants
  
• Threw several large parties and countless smaller events
  
• Built a brand new Web site
  
• Awarded three Bay Area teachers with a check to thank them for their efforts
  
• Created a third scholarship for a student going to college in the fall of 2003
