Bill Fitzgerald is the Newest Teacher of the Month

Possessing the gift to spark a passion for writing among his students is just one of the great attributes of May’s Teacher of the Month, Mr. Bill Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald is the 11th grade English teacher and the Director of Technology at the Jewish Community High School of the Bay in San Francisco. Read what some people have said about him:

“Bill is a favorite teacher of our students, many of whom attribute their love of literature and history as well as their advanced skills in critical reading and thinking, composition, written and oral communication and technology to his outstanding instruction.”
– Rabbi Edward Harwitz

“Bill Fitzgerald is an outstanding teacher because beyond the individual students and his classroom, he has vision, creativity and commitment to the school enterprise in its entirety.”
– Rabbi Mimi Weisel

“The atmosphere which he creates enables students to produce their best work. Mr. Fitzgerald is a phenomenal person.”
– Sharon Deutch

“Mr. Fitzgerald sees a potential I never really knew existed and encourages me every step of the way to develop it. In class, he is so fired up about English that afterwards I can’t think of anything I’d rather do then flesh out my own passion for writing…Mr. Fitzgerald is one of those rare teachers that lights up something inside every person he touches.”
– Kira Deutch

“He has helped me find the true motivation to pursue my studies. He has enlightened me not to learn nearly for the sake of grades but to learn for the sake of knowledge.”
– Aurora Simcovich
