Congratulations to our February Teacher of the Month

Congratulations to February’s Teacher of the Month, Jeanette Chin, a 2nd grade teacher at Alamo Elementary School. Numerous students and parents have written to us about her dedication and excellence in the classroom. Ms. Chin is an exemplary teacher who cares about each of her student’s individual needs, encouraging and helping those who struggle as well as challenging everyone to reach their full potential. She pays attention to the small details, which, in the end, make all the difference. Students enjoy and prosper from the individual attention they receive and parents are grateful to know their children spend their days in such a positive atmosphere.

Everyday, students from Ms. Chin’s class return home eager to share what they have learned with the rest of their family. Ms. Chin’s greatest successes have been in writing, through which she has been able to build her students’ skills in research, self-expression, and perhaps most importantly, thinking outside of the box. They are taught that problems often have many different solutions and are praised for unique, creative answers.

Ms. Chin’s impact on her students and their parents has lasted far beyond the weeks spent in the classroom. Parents whose students were in her class a year ago continue to praise the lasting impression Ms. Chin has left upon their child. The personal relationships she forms with her kids help previously neglected students flourish and encourage excelling students to challenge themselves further. She also makes a point to show her kids the world outside the classroom walls, organizing city field trips that every single student can learn from and enjoy. Her current pupils continue to grow from her guidance and benefit from a teacher that is dedicated so fully to her job.
