On Sunday, July 30, the eight brave individuals who made up this year's Booty Team rose with the break of dawn, donned eye-patches and bandannas, strapped on their running shoes, and hit the pavement in order to raise money for 826 Valencia. The Booty Team crew cumulatively took on the 5K, the 1/2 marathon, and the full San Francisco Marathon and pulled in a treasure trove of $3,346.00 in donations. The following running fundraisers literally went the distance for the kids here at 826:
- Nicole Aurora Bender
- Charlotte Brewster
- Michael DePaul
- Isaac Fitzgerald
- Pamela Herbert
- Leigh Lehman
- Abner Morales
- Catherine Silvestre
This is the third year that The Booty Team has organized to raise money for 826 Valencia through the SF Marathon Cause-to-Run program. The money raised by The Booty Team is a helpful boost for us here at 826 as we gear up for the coming school year. We thank these eight participants for their efforts, and congratulate them on their race accomplishments.
