Attention Young Aspiring Novelists
Mark your calendars! Stock up on pens, notebooks, and snacks! Make sure your friends are warned, and your family computer is reserved! November is National Novel Writing Month, the time when people all over the world take up the challenge of bashing out a 50,000-word novel from scratch in 30 days. Participating in NaNoWriMo is free, and there's no better way to spend the less-than-exciting month of November than to spend it creating your literary masterpiece.
This challenge is much more enjoyable when you share your joys and frustrations with others, so we suggest convincing as many people as possible to join you. Competitiveness helps too, so coercing siblings is highly recommended. If spending a month noodling around in the fantastic landscapes of your imagination sounds like a really good idea, you are ready to become one of the tens of thousands of people who will be writing with us this November.
Sign up now at nanowrimo.org (for ages 13 and above) or ywp.nanowrimo.org (for ages 12 and under)!
*Writers under the age of 12 can choose to lower the word count goal if they would like.
