Ms. Sheykhzadeh is a multi-grade English teacher at Raoul Wallenberg Traditional High School and has been teaching in the San Francisco Unified School District for more than 10 years. She has been at Wallenberg for more than five of those years and is extremely valued in her high school community.
Ms. Sheykhzadeh is described as a highly motivated professional who is dedicated to literature and her craft of imparting knowledge in young people. “She just can really motivate students and has a great deal of creativity,” a colleague said about her.
“I’m always extremely impressed by her teaching,” Principal Aileen Murphy said. “She has a good-natured relationship with her students. She is always probing them intellectually and academically and she’s very accepting.”
Ms. Sheykhzadeh has a young child at home and is able to balance her teaching responsibilities with those of parenting.
Ms. Sheykhzadeh is also one of the main proponents in the new 826 Valencia publication Exactly… -- an anthology of children’s stories written by students at Wallenberg. This major book project could not have been accomplished without her foresight and dedication.
“She’s academically bringing her students to another level,” Principal Murphy said. “I’m honored that she’s a part of this school.”
Congratulations again to Guilan Sheykhzadeh. We are truly fortunate to have this teacher in our San Francisco academic community!
