We would like to express our sorrow in the loss of a volunteer, Stephen Michael O’Leary, who passed away on April 23, 2007. After a year-long struggle with cancer, he died at the young age of forty-five. Stephen contributed to the community as an elementary school teacher for SFUSD. He demonstrated a vibrant spirit through varied interests such as photography, bungee jumping, and paragliding to travels in Bolivia, Peru, Chile, Croatia, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Cambodia, Thailand, China, Venezuela, most of Western Europe, Mexico, Canada, and much of the United States. His value toward the community cannot be overstated, as a volunteer with local projects and as a supporter of several charitable and environmental organizations, including the Lance Armstrong Livestrong Foundation, the Okizu Foundation, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Hands on Bay Area. 826 feels honored that he included us in his will, and sympathize with his family in the loss of this inspiring man.
