826 Valencia and Blurb Inc. are proud to announce the publication of “Dreams,” a coffee table book of photography and creative writing by seniors of John O’Connell High.

“Dreams” is a beautiful book written by students from Christian Hollifield's Advanced Art class and printed by the amazing people at Blurb Inc. (who also donated copies of the book to each of the authors!). The students focused on four themes: self-portrait, family and friends, day-in-the-life, and details. Tutors from 826 Valencia worked with students on poems, essays and fiction to accompany their photos.

But that doesn’t even begin to describe this book. There are lots of pictures of people holding cameras out and taking pictures of themselves, there is a picture of a kid in a white body suit filled with red balloons, there are pictures of people checking their email, pictures of fences, fists, flowers, a creepy ceramic chicken head, and so much more. Students wrote pieces that take the reader on journeys through rainy days, family parties gone wrong, white sand beaches, into the mind of a computer programmer, a sports freak, and deep into history to the Mexican Revolution! This book is seriously awesome!
