826 Valencia

826 welcomes our new Pirate Store and Events Manager

826 Valencia is excited to welcome Scott Louie as our new Pirate Store and Events Manager!

In this position, Scott will act as a liaison between 826 and the larger community by coordinating events that range from neighborhood and student celebrations to fundraisers for various 826 programs. With the planning of these events, Scott will play an essential role in promoting 826 and building relationships with the community. He will also lend his expertise and enthusiasm to swashbuckling and swabbing of the deck as he manages the pirate supply store.

Scott brings to 826 a vast amount of experience in coordinating events for organizations with goals similar to those of 826. Most recently, he served as Event Coordinator for California School Age Consortium, helping them construct California's largest after-school conference. He previously coordinated APAture, an Asian Pacific American arts and music festival, for San Francisco's Kearny Street Workshop, and assisted with events at the Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center. Prior to a career in event planning, Scott served as a reporter, editor and television producer for Pacific News Service.

Scott's interest in arts, writing, education and event planning make him the perfect fit for 826 Valencia, and we are thrilled to have him as a part of the team!
