Mark Baker and Mia Straghalis will host a workshop for volunteers focused on reading strategies. They will discuss the reading process as
well as the reading-writing connection, with their conversations focused
primarily on why students struggle with or are resistant to reading. From
there, they will look at (and practice!) some strategies for assisting
students to engage with reading, to map out text, and to contextualize.
