Earlier this week, on Monday, May 5, we held our annual Cinco de Mayo party here in the tutoring lab, and it was just packed. A two-member face-painting team -- Jon Adams and Leslie Outhier -- showed up to add decorative (and oftentimes complex) art to children's faces. There were a multitude of Iron Men, Transformers, Sponge Bobs, kitty cats, butterflies and more. Parents brought in huge quantities of delicious, homemade food. There were craft booths, run by tutors, that included flag-making, coloring and word-searches. There was music, feasting, and all around good cheer at this year's celebration.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped out, including the aforementioned Jon Adams and Leslie Outhier .. as well as Abner Morales, Deborah John, Brian Gray, Z'ev X. Jenerik, Cristina Giner, David Brownell, Lucas Peters, Jon Trunnell and all of the students and parents who make this community-space the warm, wonderful place that it is!
