We’re happy to announce that starting in mid-October, and once a month thereafter, 826 Valencia will award a Bay Area teacher the 826 Teacher of the Month Award, which comes with a $1,500 gift for use in any way the honoree chooses.

826 Valencia awarded our first college scholarship to Chinaka Hodge, 18, who hails from Oakland and recently matriculated at NYU. Chinaka is an electrifying spoken word performer and was an integral part of Youth Speaks, our sponsoring organization. She will be sending us monthly updates on her first year of college.
