This spring we will publish the inaugural issue of the 826 Valencia quarterly journal. We are looking for young writers, between the ages of 12 and 18, to share their talents with us. When we finish creating the publication, we will host a celebration featuring the contributors here at the center. The deadline to submit work is March 1.

City Arts & Lectures invites students from 826 to take part in three evening
discussion events:
- April 9 Steven Carter interviewed by Anita Hill
- May 5 Jonathan Safran Foer interviewed by Renee Rothmann
- May 22 Matt Ridley interviewed by Roy Eisenhardt
This series is limited to twenty-one students, ages 13?18, and will run from 6:30–9:30 PM. Each event will be moderated by 826 volunteers Eva Frank and Beth Daly.
On Saturday, March 1, from 11 AM until 1 PM, 826 Valencia will co-host a workshop with the long-running Noise Pop Music Festival. Any middle- or high-school student interested in learning about the creative process behind songwriting and how to channel that understanding into effective writing about music should plan to attend. We will introduce you to a group of esteemed, award-winning music writers from magazines like Rolling Stone, Spin, Vibe and the San Francisco Chronicle and a group of local musicians who are ready to have their music heard and discussed live, and in-person.
The workshop will be moderated by 826 instructors Andrew Strickman and Blake Robin, and will be held at Noe Valley Ministry, located at 1021 Sanchez Street.
