Volume 6
This is a volume of great student writing in themes that kids are interested
in: humor, mystery, boredom, family, blockbuster movies, madness,
enchiladas, graffiti, and death. The pieces include poems, short stories,
and a few nonfiction pieces showcasing our young writers' voices. There are
stories by teenagers about living in Africa, traveling in Thailand, and
being a Cajun daughter. Elementary school students write about an "R" rated
dinner party, mysteries about the Tangerine forest, and poems about hats,
trees, and sounds. Middle school students explore voice through stories with
multiple points of view and the theft of a sparkly Hello Kitty pen.

Volume 7
This volume of The 826 Quarterly showcases the best poetry, short fiction,
and nonfiction written by kids in the San Francisco Bay Area. Past issues
have covered everything from skort-wearing to mole removal to a math
equation involving a chicken and a potato. Topics in this seventh issue
include a 30-minute high school love affair, a sewer cleaner who teams up
with a rock to save their city, and the world's oldest two-year-old. The
pieces were selected by the students and adults at the 826 Valencia writing
center, who combed through hundreds of submissions to find the writing
presented here.

Volume 8
Without being overly judgmental, we can safely say there are only two kinds
of people in this world even if the dividing line isn't very clear. This
book is here to help you find out exactly what kind of person you just might be.
Examples of the information within include:
There are those who have magic within them and do good in strange places
and those who have not yet turned fourteen. Those who laugh while the world is destroying itself and those
who are scared to acknowledge that the world is not going to survive much
longer. Those who are apprehensive of awakening the ogre across the hall and those who acknowledge this is the price to pay to dwell
on a heavily littered, crumbling hillside. Those who find tadpoles in the bathing bucket and those who put them there.
Volume Eight Price: $15.00
