Drop-In Memory Loss

I was tutoring Carlos, who was in a very bad mood because he lost the memory card to his Gameboy. He didn't want to do his homework, but I kept cajoling him until he reluctantly opened his worksheets. We did one assignment which I praised him for completing. He started working on another, completed it, then did another.

By this time, he had totally forgotten his lost game card, and got excited about trying to finish his homework. Just as he was completing the last assignment, his brother walked up with the lost game card. He had found it under the couch. Carlos had forgotten all about it, but was happy to get it back. This was a wonderful lesson (especially for me!) in the power of letting go of negative thoughts, and staying in the moment!!
