Our much appreciated guests arrived promptly and were put to work at 11:00-ish. I had made a list of singles (one student) and doubles (two students) prior to their arrival. The task was to help these students to summarize information from a nonfiction article, pulling out main ideas with supporting details. Everyone went to work immediately. The students rapidly warmed up to our visitors.
