826 Valencia

Workshop Notes
Bay-farer Issue #12

New York Times, who?... The 826 Valencia Bay-farer vaulted itself to the fore of the journalism world with its' ground-breaking twelfth issue. With unprecedented wit, candor, and ability the fearless young writers of 826 Valencia tackled such hot-button topics as sustainable energy, the conflict in the Middle East, and suicide prevention on the Golden Gate Bridge. The student journalists were also able to display an uncanny ability to demonstrate the pulse of their peers with top-notch articles on the World Cup, the iPod, Pirates of the Caribbean, Comic Con, and video game violence. With only eight hours of workshop, 15 writers were able to create what will certainly be considered this summer’s masterpiece. Thanks to all the generous tutors who made this issue possible.
