Breaking News: Bay-farer 30 is in the works

Start the presses! The Bay-farer is gearing up for its 30th edition, having assembled its largest group of top notch young reporters to date. Aged 8-14, these young writers are lending their inquisitive minds to examining the important issues of today. In their first writerly meeting of this issue, the 28 writers convened and discussed what, in their opinion, makes "news" news. They agreed that important criteria included "events," "recency," "relevance," and "exciting!"

After brushing up on their interviewing skills by grilling their tutors with questions such as, "How long have you had that beard?" and "Do you have any brothers or sisters?" the writers spent time brainstorming the content for their forthcoming publication. Headlines to be anticipated include: What People are Eating These Days, My Band, How Kids Feel about Global Warming, Homeless Dogs, Lady Gaga, The Winter Olympics, and Prop 8. Next week, our dauntless writers reassemble to dive into their research. Only four weeks remain until the deadline so keep an eye on the newsstands, for in one month's time, Bay-farer 30 will be in print!
