826 Quarterly Submission Guidelines
A call to young writers!
Several times a year we publish work by writers between the ages of 12 and 18 in The 826 Quarterly. We are also eager to highlight writing in this online Writing Gallery. We select pieces from among the quarterly’s online submissions to post. If you are interested in submitting to the quarterly or for online publication, read on:
- We prefer electronic submissions. Send them to 826quarterly@gmail.com
- Don’t forget to forget to include the following information with your submission: your name, your email address, the name of your school, your age, and the name and phone number of your parents or guardians.
- If you do send a hard copy, please include a self-addressed envelope so that we can return your work to you.
- We are happy to receive your stories, poems, essays, comic strips, interviews, everything. The work can be one image, a series of sonnets, or a twenty-page narrative.
- We are looking for work that you are proud of. Share with us your creativity, original voice, and honesty.
- We will let you know if your work is selected for publication either online or in the quarterly. Please note that work posted in the Writing Gallery will not necessarily be published in The 826 Quarterly.
When submitting writing to The 826 Quarterly, be sure to download this permission slip and have your parents or guardians sign and return it to 826 Valencia.
We look forward to reading your work.
