The Almighty Cookies Review

by Miles Ceralde, age 12

This Class Sucks, the reviews and criticism workshop, provided a forum for students to appreciate the art of being opinionated. Their taste-making skills were tested on areas as varied as food, music, and even 826 itself.

Cookie A
When I first bit into these weird Chips Ahoy cookies, I thought, “how plastic-like and crumbly can cookies get?!” The chocolate chips were very gritty, and the overall cookie was too crumbly to eat without some serious crumb-spilling going on. The cookie’s inside wasn’t that bad, but it still have off a processed feeling in your mouth, and you could tell they were factory made.

Cookie B
The exact opposite of Cookie A, this one was extremely chewy and thin instead of brittle and semi-thick. This cookie’s texture was very smooth and inviting, which I think had something to do with the fact that they were homemade. When I bit into it, however, it felt like I was eating a thick, wax paper cup, and it was too flexible to really be substantial.

Cookie C
Ah, the taste of a cookie that strikes a balance between too brittle, too chewy, too think, or too thin. The chocolate chips on this one were marvelous. They seemed to have a high-quality taste to them, and, like the above cookie, I think it had something to do with the fact that it was homemade. The thickness of the cookie was about one-quarter of an inch, and the taste was excellent. Not too chewy, not too hard. Now that is a good cookie.
