Mark your calendars for an unforgettable night of storytelling, inspiration, and celebration at 826 Valencia’s signature event—the Bookeaters’ Bash!
Purchase your tickets and learn about sponsorships here.
Join us as we honor the creativity and brilliance of our student authors while supporting our mission to provide free writing, tutoring, and publishing programs to over 7,000 students in San Francisco.
We’ll hear from poet, playwright, and educator Chinaka Hodge, one of the first 826 Valencia scholarship recipients who now works as a screenwriter (Marvel Studios’ Ironheart, AMC’s Snowpiercer).
We will also be joined by acclaimed cartoonist, author, and educator Gene Luen Yang. Gene was the Library of Congress’ fifth National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature and his graphic novel American Born Chinese was made into a television series for Disney+. Gene is also a member of 826 Valencia’s King Carl’s Council.
Our program will also feature special presentations by our talented student authors and an engaging “Raise the Paddle” fundraiser.
Guests will each receive a special gift bag featuring local favorites like Dandelion Chocolate and a limited edition Dave Eggers print. 🍫 🖼️
