In this class, students will learn the art of retelling by reading well-known fairytales and folk tales, identifying their tropes and themes, and learning strategies that allow them to transform classic tales. Students will draw from their experiences, backgrounds, and interests to “re-voice” these stories and bring new life to them.
Developed and taught by instructor and writer Miranda Bumstead, this workshop will occur on two consecutive Sundays (March 15th and March 22nd) 10am-12pm.
To express interest in this workshop fill out this form.
After registering, staff will reach out to offer a spot depending on eligibility and availability in the program. Our workshops are open to anyone, but we do give priority to SFUSD students with socio-economic need and hold spaces for students enrolled in our other programs.
