Future Stories, Future Worlds (Ages 9-13) (CLASS FULL)

Join us for a 3 hour workshop brought to you by 826 Valencia in partnership with Magikal Machines. In this workshop, students will have the opportunity to explore a new graphic novel which takes place in a lush rainforest, and uncovers contemporary issues related to technology and society. In collaboration with their peers, students will be provided with time to read the graphic novel, reflect on issues that surfaced, learn about real-world cases where tech has gone awry, and explore a series of activities to investigate these issues. Activities include creative writing, collage, futures forecasting and coding in a new gaming platform called GameBender.
This a one-day workshop, three-hour workshop happening on Sunday, January 25th 11am-2pm.

After registering, staff will reach out to offer a spot depending on eligibility and availability in the program. Our workshops are open to anyone, but we do give priority to SFUSD students with socio-economic need and hold spaces for students enrolled in our other programs.
