The Valencia Bay-Farer: Creative News Edition (Ages 9-13)

Each semester, 826 offers the Valencia Bay-farer workshop so that students can experience the process news reporters use to brainstorm, research, and write compelling articles. In this special edition workshop, students will get to write CREATIVE NEWS STORIES, utilizing those same skills to imagine fictional news stories. They will learn how to conduct research, cite sources, and how to hook readers! On the last day of this workshop, students will receive their published newspaper and will read their articles in front of friends and families.

This a six-week workshop and students are asked to attend all dates:
10/28, 11/4, 11/18, 12/2, 12/9, & 12/16 (No class on 11/11 and 11/25).
