826 Valencia Programming During SFUSD Strike

As you may have heard, San Francisco schools are closed today and teachers are on strike. We stand with educators as they fight for better wages and working conditions. At the same time, we recognize that closed schools impact the students and families we serve, many of whom depend on school not only for learning but also for stability, meals, and daily care. We hold both truths and are committed to supporting our community through this period. Check out these links to learn more about SFUSD and UESF bargaining updates.

Beginning today, Monday, February 9, we are providing responsive programming from 9 am to 6 pm at our three Centers (Mission, Tenderloin, and Mission Bay). These programs are open to students who participate in 826 Valencia programming at our Centers and partner schools. In addition, our after-school programs that operate at our Centers will continue as usual. Because many families rely on schools for food, our Centers will serve as meal distribution sites in collaboration with the Department of Children, Youth & Their Families (DCYF) when those meals become available. Until then, we will provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks to our students.

We are deeply thankful to our staff for the work they do to support our students, families, and teachers! Their commitment, adaptability, and excellence are unparalleled.
