At 826 Valencia, we value freedom of expression. When we publish our students’ writing, we create space for unbounded joy, reflection, and the stories only they can tell. We know that, in turn, these books inspire readers and shape our communities. That is the transformative power books have. 📚 ⚡️
Through October 11, join us and the entire literacy community as we highlight the importance of freedom of expression during Banned Books Week. 📖 And on October 19, we’ll be participating in a celebration of books with Books Not Bans, starting at 12:30 pm, in Jack Kerouac Alley. There will be an open mic and activities for everyone who loves reading (including crafting and zine-making!).
