Get to know our Associate Board

826 Valencia is honored to introduce 14 new and returning members onto our Associate Board for the next school year.

We originally created the Associate Board in Spring 2018 as a way to engage and inspire the next generation of philanthropists and civic leaders. This is a junior board of young professionals who are committed to a social justice practice, to supporting 826 in their daily lives, and to making a deeper commitment beyond volunteering and donations (both of which they also do!).

The group’s primary goals are to increase awareness of 826 Valencia’s work, drive new volunteer engagement, fundraise to support 826 Valencia programs, provide educational spaces to discuss local San Francisco issues, and to connect with other Associate Boards in order to strengthen the nonprofit network in the Bay Area.

The service year is just getting started, and they’ve already hosted a virtual cocktail class with a whole lot of watermelon mason jar shaking. Stay tuned for more virtual events that will blend the magic of 826 Valencia’s mission with the collective desire to center service to others during these transformational times.

You can read their bios here and reach out if you’d like to collaborate or support their initiatives!
