We at 826 Valencia are proud to announce Emilie Sasson as our December Teacher of the Month! Ms. Sasson teaches eighth-grade Non-Fiction Studies at Everett Middle School.
She is a devoted teacher who puts her heart into her work. She is known for being very open with students, willing to share her own personal goals with them while also maintaining open lines of communication about her process in the classroom.
Ms. Sasson is admired by colleagues for the time she spends preparing to deliver material in new and engaging ways, and for her unwavering belief in her students. One colleague comments on her drive to make sure her lessons are accessible for all students stating that, “She will not rest until her students reach their goals!”
Beyond her classroom duties, Ms. Sasson is also known to go above and beyond for her students. She has created an eighth-grade Instagram to help spread joy inside and outside the classroom, supported students in designing space for a feminist club and a Middle Eastern Student Union, and spearheaded fundraising for victims of the fires this fall.
One student appreciates that “she never gives up on any of her students no matter what,” and another declares, “any student would be lucky to have her as a teacher.”
Ms. Sasson, it is clear how much your students and colleagues admire you, and we do too. From everyone at 826 Valencia, our hats are off to you, Emilie! Thank you for your great work and dedication to students.
