It’s National Volunteer Week. And do you know what this means? This celebratory week was first established in 1974 to honor the people who dedicate their time to help their communities.
Since then, the National Volunteer Week has grown each year exponentially, with thousands of volunteer projects and special events scheduled throughout the country. This week, happening this year from April 15-21, is an opportunity to celebrate the impact of volunteers and the transformative power of their support.
And we at 826 love our volunteers too much to let this week go by without recognizing all of you who make our work possible every day, showing up at our centers (and schools!) with a positive attitude to help our students explore their creativity, improve their writing, and take pride in their work. So whether you’ve been here for as long as Captain Blue or have just met King Carl, join us in thanking these incredible folks for tackling tough challenges, bringing new solutions and perspectives, and helping our youth grow their affinity in writing. 826 Volunteers, we would be lost at sea without you!
And if you’re feeling inspired already, sign up for a shift to keep the energy going all month long and spread the word to inspire others to join as well.
