We’ve been supporting San Francisco students through free writing, tutoring, and publishing programs for 15 years. So in between growing in spurts and striving for the perfect mixtape, this year we decided to ask our community what fifteen means to them. The result? Fifteen, a collection of writing and art by authors ages eight to much older than 15, from 15 years of 826 Valencia!
This super special book features writing by our students alongside guest contributors like Daniel Handler (otherwise known as Lemony Snicket), Kate Schatz (Rad Women Worldwide), Matthew Zapruder (Why Poetry), Thao Nguyen (of Thao and the Get Down Stay Down), and more!
If you’ve ever been fifteen, will be fifteen, or are fifteen, this book is for you—and as usual, all the proceeds support free programs for under-resourced youth. Join us as we launch and celebrate this special book as part of the LitCrawl literary festival on October 14 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at 826 Valencia St. Admission is free and refreshments will be served!
