KQED: “SF’s In-Person ‘Learning Hubs’ Had Zero COVID-19 Outbreaks. What Does This Mean for Reopening Public Schools?”

826 Valencia partnered with San Francisco’s Community Hubs Initiative to provide in-person care and enrichment to some of SF’s most vulnerable students. Now, the Community Hubs Initiative is being held up as an example of safe COVID-19 practices.

“[The Community Hubs Initiative] has served around 2,000 K-12 students in small, in-person groups over the past few months without a single reported outbreak of COVID-19. …‘It’s great to have the evidence that we can open our schools safely,’ said Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo, professor and chair of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at UCSF.” Read more on KQED’s site.
