Our October 2025 Teacher of the Month is Eyad Abdel-Khaleq

We are thrilled to announce our October 2025 Teacher of the Month! Eyad Abdel-Khaleq, a dedicated third-grade teacher at Sanchez Elementary School, exemplifies unwavering commitment to his students, school, and community. We celebrate Mr. A for inspiring those around him!

Mr. A consistently upholds high expectations and rigor in his classroom, creating an environment that fosters both academic growth and personal development. He approaches each student with genuine care, kindness, and a profound sense of humanity. His innovative teaching style and diverse methods serve as a source of inspiration for the entire team at Sanchez Elementary, and they all strive to emulate his exemplary practices.

One third-grade student, Cassie, says, “Mr. A is very sweet, he is sarcastic, he says mistakes help us learn. Mr. A helps us learn, he gives us parties, and he keeps us safe. He lets us draw on the board. He gives us snacks. Mr. A lets us play games. He lets us make friends.”

With a steadfast commitment to the success and well-being of each student, Mr. A demonstrates a remarkable talent for supporting individuals with diverse language skills. He takes the time to ensure that every student feels both valued and understood, creating an inclusive atmosphere where learning thrives.

Carter, a third-grade student, says, “Mr. A is sarcastic, silly, and serious. He helps me learn how to tell time and teaches me history. Mr. A encourages me to learn more. He’s the best.”

Beyond his dedication to student development, Mr. A actively nurtures a vibrant sense of community within the classroom, encouraging collaboration among peers. His efforts extend beyond student interaction, as he fosters meaningful connections with his colleagues, promoting a united and supportive educational environment for all.

Zerrell, a third-grade student, says, “Mr. A is really nice, very kind, and helps me learn Math and to get smart. He is so funny. He helps me share my feelings and improve my skills to get so smart at school. He is so compassionate and supportive of students. Mr. A helps me read books and write a lot.”

The visual elements within Mr. A’s classroom are truly unique and thoughtfully designed to support his teaching philosophy. One standout poster reads, “When you say, ‘I’m done!’ think to yourself … I’ve only just begun!” This mantra encourages students to embrace the writing process, showcasing steps that promote deeper engagement, such as re-reading their work, adding more details, and brainstorming ideas for new pieces.

Milo, a third-grade student, says, “Mr. A is sarcastic and funny. He gives us parties, and he lets us sit on our tables for silent ball. He helps me learn hard things.”

Additionally, his social-emotional learning (SEL) toolbox is a remarkable resource, stocked with versatile tools aimed at nurturing personal and interpersonal skills. This toolbox includes concepts like respecting personal space, active listening, taking mindful breaks, practicing apology and forgiveness, breathing techniques, creating a quiet or safe space, using expressive language, and fostering empathy, all of which contribute to a supportive and thriving classroom culture.
