826 Valencia is proud to announce our fourth weekend-long personal statement tutoring event, the Great San Francisco Personal Statement Weekend, will be held on October 13 and 14. We’re calling on public high school seniors to register and attend, and all 826 Valencia tutors to sign up to support them as they write, edit, and revise these important essays for college entrance.
Here’s how it works: During the weekend of October 13 and 14, 826 Valencia will have trained tutors on call to give one-on-one attention to students as they write and edit their college application essays, whether they’re just starting, almost finished, or somewhere in between. We’ll also have computers on hand for easy editing as well as brain food to munch on to keep them going.
Registering for the event as a student or a tutor is easy—just follow this link to our calendar and find the day and time slot that works for you. Tutors: we’ll be offering two trainings each day to prep you for working with students. Students: You can sign up for two- or four-hour sessions on either or both days.
Students can also come in for help with scholarship application personal statements in addition to college application personal statements. Registering ahead of timehelps us best prepare to meet each student’s individual needs on their essays.
Save the date and spread the word! Last year we served 150 students over the weekend, and this year we have the capacity to serve even more.
Seniors: don’t miss this opportunity to polish your personal statements to make them clear, powerful, meaningful, memorable, and effective at getting you into college!
