Hey, 826 Valencia volunteers! As this school year draws to a close, we want to say a huge THANK YOU!—and ask for your help.
Every year in the fall we have a big problem: getting our volunteers back into our programs after the summer. So this year, we’re asking our active volunteers (if you’re a registered volunteer and you’re reading this, that’s you!) to take a pledge to come back at the start of the fall.
Why? Because our programs really need you at the beginning of the school year! Last year, we supported more than 7,000 students in the fall, but only 30% of our experienced tutors had returned by December. This year we are setting a goal of having 50% of this year’s tutors return by December 2018. Can we count on you?
Here’s all you need to do right now:
Step 1: TAKE THE PLEDGE by completing this four-question survey.
Step 2: SAVE THE DATE—August 1!—for a special event to honor all our returning volunteers. You’ll receive an email with all the details.
Step 3: SIGN UP for your shifts when the program you’ve pledged to starts up again in the fall. We’ll follow up with a reminder.
