After a year of construction, 300 hours of working with students in the Tenderloin through partner organizations, and incredible support from all of you, we opened the 826 Valencia Tenderloin Center with an official ribbon cutting on May 19, 2016.
This 5,000 square foot space will bring tutoring, writing, and publishing programs to thousands of kids in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood. It’s also the home of our new store, King Carl’s Emporium, a — well, emporium of sorts — of supplies for explorers of all stripes, curated by our dear puffer fish, King Carl.
