We’re thrilled to invite you to the first International Congress of Youth Voices to celebrate and amplify the voices of students from all over the world!
This event, organized by our co-founder Dave Eggers and former Executive Director of 826michigan Amanda Uhle, will unite 100 students from many different countries—including 826 alums!—to learn with and from inspiring professionals such as writers Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Khaled Hosseini, journalist and filmmaker Jose Antonio Vargas, Women’s March leaders Bob Bland and Tabitha St. Bernard-Jacobs, and many other guest speakers.
We’re so proud that our 826 students will be part of this amazing learning experience, sharing tips, stories, and anecdotes with other brilliant folks who are dedicated to improving our society, whether through education, activism, politics, or art.
Many young people don’t have the opportunity to participate in our democracy and have their voices and opinions valued and heard. From that gap emerged the International Congress of Youth Voices as a means to amplify the ideas and energy of these bright young minds.
The Congress will culminate in a performance at the Nourse Theater on August 4, and you can find tickets here. This truly special evening will ignite discussions across our communities on how to build a more democratic society that values and welcomes perspectives from all backgrounds, countries, and languages. See you there!
