Announcing our 2020 Young Authors’ Workshop

Each summer, 826 Valencia hosts its annual Young Authors’ Workshop (YAW), a three-week writing camp open to rising 10th-12th graders who are excited to explore a diverse range of genres, edit their writing in small workshop groups, and become published writers. Professional writers, poets, and spoken word artists will teach guest lessons and volunteer tutors will help with revision and editing. At the end of the program, students who meet the camp’s requirements and expectations will receive a small stipend.

Students from all over the Bay Area are welcome to apply, though priority will be given to students in SFUSD, particularly our partner schools, and to students with financial need. Whether you spend your free time writing poetry in your bedroom or find writing a challenging task, this camp is for you! All are welcome.

This summer’s YAW will take place virtually. Please apply here via our application and we will be in touch shortly.
