General

Enrollment happens in various ways at 826 Valencia. Most of our programs enroll students through their schools, but we do offer workshops that are open for sign-ups. Check out our calendar, which is updated on an ongoing basis, to find a workshop that would be a good fit. Other programs are filled from a waitlist, through community partners, or via school partnerships.

Our After-School Tutoring Program is in high demand, and we prioritize returning students and families with economic needs. This program usually has a long waitlist, and we aren’t able to open up spaces very often. If you have questions about the waitlist and how it’s maintained, or want to confirm that you’re on it, contact ast@826valencia.org for Mission Center and missionbay@826valencia.org for the Mission Bay Center.

For Students and Families

Check the descriptions of each program for updated information about registration and availability. If you’d like to reach staff at a specific Writing Center, visit our contact page.

Student authors get one free copy of their publication, and additional copies are for sale in our stores and online. You can also find a digital version on our publications page. If your student never received a copy, please contact their program lead.

You are a valuable community member; we hope you stay involved for many years after graduating! Sign up for our newsletter, learn about other ways to get involved here, or contact us at alumni@826valencia.org.

For Teachers

We add new school sites to our In-Schools roster on a case by case basis, depending on need and staff capacity. As a first step, we encourage you to sign up your class for a Field Trip. Contact Programs Director Ryan Young at ryan@826valencia.org to learn more about our In-School partnerships.
