If you walk into a class, you will see every kid laying their head down on their table. Some kids are even asleep. Our students look so tired in class, they even fall asleep. Students can’t even walk. It’s hard for them to pay attention in class, that’s why we need more recess.
Kids in class are the opposite of what they are in recess: bored. Kids are like bored adults stranded on a chair. We are in the same room for hours and hours, without moving in a chair. I want to use the $40 million dollars to give us more recess. We should take ten minutes away from writing, and put five minutes in each recess: lunch recess and recess.
We need more recess. Some people need a little more recess to pay better attention in class, or maybe at least a break. I am one of those people. I think that we should get more recess. They need to take away five to ten minutes from learning time, maybe like writing and add it to our last recess, or five and five in each. Not only do we need a break, but our teachers also. An example is my last year class was really crazy and loud and our teacher desperately needed a break. Learning can be fun, but not as fun as recess. It can be stressful and make our heads hurt.
We need a break because we work really hard and do schoolwork all the time, plus some kids have homework and that is only extra work. We don’t need extra work. Maybe parents and grownups might say, “Oh you guys need to learn, you don’t need recess,” but actually they were kids too, and they probably felt like that once. When adults come from work, they are tired and only want to relax. That is exactly how we feel. You might say, “Nah, it’s not the same.” It actually is, but like mini-versions.
Another thing is that kids have a lot more energy than adults and need to take it out. That’s why we should get more recess, kids need breaks too. The students at BVHM need more recess. It would make our life even better. In classrooms for hours and hours, sitting in a chair without moving. Adults should make better decisions, and give us more recess. That’s why kids need more recess. Give kids more recess.
